Worldwide there are over 1120 Brothers living and working in all five continents within 400 apostolic centres, which provide health and social care services.
The West European Province of Saint John of God comprises Great Britain, Ireland, New Jersey and Malawi with the Provincial Curia based in Dublin. In Great Britain the Brothers fulfil a variety of roles in governance, leadership, pastoral and hands-on support.
The Brothers profess the three vows of religion that are traditional with the Church: poverty, chastity and obedience. To these are added a fourth vow – a vow of Hospitality. By this vow they give their lives to the service of the poor and broken in society, just as Saint John of God had done before them.
